I have a PC on Windows 10 64 bit and running Office 2016 home and student version. I downloaded indic script input 3 64 bit for hindi and it worked perfect. However, after I shut down and restarted the machine I am unable to switch to this input method althoughI tried reinstalling it, even downloaded the installer again. All that I am offered is the hindi traditional key board that is of no use as it involves learning completely anew keyboard layout while the indic script layout was intuitive as one could transliterateas in roman script making for faster and effficient input. Please advise workarounds if any available, and if not the time frame that this problem may be expected to be resolved, if at all. We'll be happy to assist you with this.Kindly provide more information to diagnose the issue better.a) Are you facing this issue only in Office 2016 application? Hi Praveenthank you for your reply.I have checked with Notepad and it is the same problem.I did not deliberately make any change to keyboard settings before restart (the default is English US)I did try the repair option but to no avail. Interestingly enough when asked to enter an admin password I am able to see the Indic keyboard as one of the toggle options that disappears once I enter Office or other word processing application.I have checked the toggle several times, including after restart, after repair and after removal and reinstallation with restart but all to no avail, the Indic keyboard option does not appear.I have installed Hindi and have the traditional keyboard option available installed.

However, this is not my preferred option since as stated in my question the traditional keyboards will involve extensive learning how to use including mapping equivalentsto my qwerty keyboard whereas the Indic keyboards use transliteration based on qwerty input and are so more intuitive to use for people familiar with roman script.I have looked at the links or similar text earlier before I posted my question and there is no help. A further observation is that these do not really address Windows 10 since they refer to Windows 8 or earlier versions!I do think that the problem is one related to the Windows 10 upgrade and may require the microsoft bhasha team that developed the original software to develop a patch.

I do hope that Microsoft is still supporting this initiative. It would be disappointingif millions of Indic language users are unable to input in their languages of choice becuase of Windows upgrade. Microsoft may even want to consider providing the indic transliteration keyboard as one of the options on the control panel add a language option. The vast majority of Indic language computer users are surely familiar with the qwerty keyboard and I think that this solution is to be preferred to the alternatives that involve - as I have said more than once! - learning a new keyboard layout, and also developinga mental map of the keyboard of the provided traditional or inscript keyboards onto the qwerty keyboard. Most of us have the qwerty keyboard on our systems (read laptops!) and cannot or do not wish to carry another Indic language hardware keyboard even ifthey could access one. The hardware is not readily available even in India!!Hope that a solution is found soon. For now I am using the Google docs option with the transliteration keyboard provided there.

But I would prefer to use Office, not least because I have spent money on licensing it, but also because the Microsoft Indic transliteration keyboars is superiorto the one provided by Google.Regards.
