Hi there,I just wanted to share with you guys a personal project I have been working on:I started this as a personal project to improve my coding skills, but also because there were two aspects of the original editor that bothered me a bit:. The syntax highlighting was not perfect. When the scrollbar is visible, it can make your screen jump after a syntax highlighting operation is finished. My version uses an already existing library for code editing (ScintillaNET), so it does not experiencethis issue. Many times I found myself losing the changes in an Excel workbook because I opened it in the Custom UI Editor first, then modified it in Excel, then saved it in the tool (without closing and reopening it first). In my version, I tried to address this bytriggering an automatic reload of the file contents (except custom UI files and icons) before the saving takes place.The tool is open source and free to use, so I hope some of you find it as useful as me.

Fernando:I was able to find the file itself (my bad) and have tried it out this weekend. It works perfectly and I was able to make changes to a ribbon in a file I already had without any glitches. The interface is familiar and not any different from the originalCUIEditor, with only small differences in the size of some of the buttons.The Save As feature is great-this avoids the problem of working on the ribbon with an Excel file that is still open, which in the past meant having to go through several steps to close that.

With this new feature you have added, I can save the Excel fileunder a new name.Other nice touches: the numbering of the lines on the left edge of the coding area, and the fact that the cursor doesn't jump to the bottom of the screen after a cut and paste.I think this is great and can serve as the 'official' Custom UI Editor from now on. If any errors are identified, you must correct them.Click the Generate Callback button. Proof that adding a new Ribbon command using XML is actually possible.In the Custom UI Editor, when you choose Insert → Office 2007 Custom UI Part, you insert a UI part for Excel 2007. The Custom UI Editor also has an option to insert a UI part for Excel 2010 (the software I used has not been updated for Office 2013 or Office 2016). For maximum compatibility, use the Excel 2007 Custom UI Part.You probably realize that modifying the Ribbon using XML is not exactly intuitive.
